Book Jacket, Synopsis, critique & Pictures
I, Alex Cross, is filled with nerve-racking surprises with every flip of the page. I can honestly say that I have never read anything so bone chilling, frightening, and perplexing. This novel puts the world in grave danger, and the thought that a sly individual could destroy the whole universe and put everything out of alignment is terrifying. But you have to question if that were the case, what would you do? The central theme that I, Alex Cross, sends to people is trust. Even though it’s a thriller/murder genre novel. Sometimes people that are in a specific place of power or hierarchy are presumed to be trustworthy and loyal, but in our society that’s not always the case. We automatically jump to conclusions in thinking that this individual will look out for our country, and be honest and good hearted. When in reality they are demented, and have no interest in your well being at all. I don’t recommend this novel for grade nines because it is contradictory, and it is extremely confusing at times. If you’re up for a challenge, and are ready for your mind to be in a state of reverence then I, Alex Cross, will be a great choice for you. James Patterson makes his novels quite intriguing yet terrorizing, the image of how someone could even commit those nasty incidents is a mystery to the innocent people of the world. An element in my novel that I did not particularly enjoy was the length of the novel; it was a complex mystery that needed to be solved. However, at some points it was just the characters talking and it dragged on in parts. I really quite enjoyed the dark, dreary parts though, because those parts were the most intriguing and petrifying. In Conclusion I enjoyed I, Alex Cross, by James Patterson however there were a few faults in my opinion.
